07/25/2006 - Major UI and performance update
We have pushed version 2.0.0.38 as a required upgrade. You will probably notice some major changes. The two biggest are detailed below.
  • Lower bandwidth requirements:
  • You asked for it, and it's finally done. Using new cutting edge open source codecs, we can achieve excellent call quality with only minimal bandwidth usage. Our new codec support multiple quality levels, with the current default one being 15 Kbps of bandwidth. Almost anyone can take advantage of iCall now!

  • Improved user interface and buddy list:
  • You can now link multiple contact methods to one contact! If you have an iCall username and a phone number for the same contact, they'll both be linked to that person.

We hope you like these improvements, and as always, we're open to suggestions.
